London based trading firm VCMT donated an incredible £50,000 in support of seriously-ill children and their families at Richard House Children’s Hospice.

With fundraising activities halted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospice is facing a shortfall of vital funds. With hospice staff and the care team doing everything in their power to safeguard children, families, volunteers and each other, VCMT were quick to support the hospice in response to an article in the local newspaper about Richard House’s threat of closure. It was in the article that VCMT discovered Richard House was supporting the NHS through the admission of additional unwell children in hospitals, locally, making room for the NHS to care for more COVID-19 cases.

The support from VCMT brought such encouragement throughout the hospice. Kathryn Elvin, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Richard House, said:

“It is incredibly rare for a company to get in contact with such a selfless and generous donation, so Richard House is delighted and proud to announce the support of VCMT. This immediate donation at one of the hospice’s darkest hours is a true lifeline. It gives us renewed hope as we struggle to make ends meet across the coming months. Once operations at Richard House are running again as usual, I look forward to the team at VCMT being involved with the hospice they are helping to save!”

Ayman Rahman, CEO at VCMT, said:

“As a trading firm based in London, we are passionate about supporting our local communities and wanted to help those immediately impacted by the crisis. We hope our donation can help Richard House continue their excellent work, and keep their services open to children and their families during this unprecedented situation.”

The Richard House Family are forever grateful for the support, which could help provide specialist care for seriously ill children.

A big thank you from all of us, to the team at VCMT.
