Give Up An Egg and put a smile on a child’s face

Every Spring, we’re overwhelmed by the number of Easter egg donations we receive from local businesses, community groups and generous individuals. As expected, hundreds have arrived this year and are piling up in reception!

While we never like to say no to the generosity of our community, we definitely have enough chocolate now. Many of our children are unable to eat the chocolate due to their complex dietary needs, and they would benefit far more from a cash donation this Easter.

That’s why we’re asking our supporters to #GiveUpAnEgg and donate the value instead! We’ve set up a dedication page where you can help put a smile on the children’s face this year. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Head to our #GiveUpAnEgg dedication page.
  2. Write a ‘Happy Easter’ message to our children. You can also post a photo to spread some Easter cheer – whether that be an Easter drawing you’ve done, a Spring nature photograph you’re proud of or just a silly selfie!
  3. If you can spare it, donate the cost of an egg. Just £7.50 could pay for treats that meet our seriously ill children’s often complex dietary needs while they’re with us at Richard House.
